José Ramón Zulueta Hernández (Colón, 5 / IV / 1936 _ Madruga, 23 / II / 1958)
He entered MR - 26 - 7 in 1956 while studying at the Tirso Mesa Municipal School of Arts and Crafts in his hometown. There he also stood out in the practice of athletics, basketball and volleyball, reaching the 1955 Pepe Barrientos in Memoriam Athletic Festival with gold medals in the javelin throw and the 4 x 100 meter relay. For his courage and dedication to the revolutionary cause, he was appointed Provincial Chief of Action and Sabotage. While serving a movement mission, two Batista police officers intercepted him inside a bus in the town of Madruga and he died in an unequal confrontation. His remains rest in the San Rafael cemetery in his hometown.
