This institution is located in the premises occupied by the Hotel Gran Continental and was completely rebuilt to function as a Municipal Museum. With the objective of rescuing, preserving and disseminating the history of our municipality, the José Ramón Zulueta Museum was created on August 8, 1982, in homage to the clandestine combatant and martyr of the fight against Batista.
It consists of 13 Permanent Exhibition Rooms, including an epigraphic room located in the large courtyard that exhibits pieces related to the Sugar Industry, streets and tarjas and whose main function is the development of political and cultural activities, a Transitory Room that is changed A sample of the month is displayed every 3 months; Research conducted on different topics. Since 1993, the Department of Monuments is incorporated into the Museum in order to preserve the heritage assets of the municipality and the oldest constructions with heritage values.
The José Ramón Zulueta Museum has Collections of great historical and artistic value such as:

House of the Martyrs of Moncada

This house was built in 1910 by its owner José María Muñiz Suárez, at that time one of the owners of the store "La Casa Grande" (Muñiz lived in the house on the right, currently the Court), later acquired by Rigoberto Areces and he rents it to Dr. Mario Muñoz Monroy at the end of 1944, who inhabits it until the day he left for Moncada, when Dr. Mario Muñoz's widow moved to Havana, the house passes to Dr. Felipe Domínguez until 1959 in leaving the country, later the house would become a barracks for fighting bandits, a local of the National Revolutionary Militias and Red Cross until 1973.
On July 21, 1974, it opens its doors as a Museum of the Martyrs of the Colón Region, until 1982, which acquires the current name "House of the Martyrs of Moncada" as a tribute to the Matanceros Martyrs of the action of July 21 from 1923.
On November 20, 1984 it was declared a Local Monument.
Currently the lobby of the house is the exhibition area of the Sample of the Month, there is a portrait of Mario Muñoz and 2 mural photos; one shows the facade of Granjita Siboney and the other the Posta No. 3 of the Santiaguera Fortress, hours after the historic Assault on Moncada.
The Museum has four rooms:
- Room # 1: Life and Revolutionary Work of Mario Muñoz: Collect the life and revolutionary work of Dr. Mario Muñoz Monroy. It reflects the stages of his life from his childhood until his death in Moncada. Including his professional activity as a doctor in the territory.
- Room # 2: Mario Muñoz Monroy's hobbies are reflected in the following activities he practiced in his spare time, such as amateur radio, small plane piloting, photography, film filming and sports activity.
- Room # 3: Colombian Martyrs of Moncada: dedicated to Matanzas martyrs where personal items are exhibited
- Room # 4: Compliance with the Moncada Program
