Today, not a few realities can amply encourage us, and even give us a pat on the shoulder, to encourage the challenging results that Cuban Medicine wins in its pitched battle against covid-19. It translates, just to cite the most recent events, in having had a few days ago, for eight consecutive days, zero deaths; the number of new confirmed cases has decreased considerably; show a growing number of medical discharges and perceive that until last May 26, 1,724 patients in Cuba have been able to be cured, which represents 87.3% of all the patients the Island has had.

Even without the slightest truce being given to the disease, and every day possible cases continue to be examined, the population is investigated and there is uninterrupted insistence on compliance with the measures that fundamentally contemplate social isolation, the use of the nasobuco, the Frequent hand washing, and the sanitation of premises and spaces, little by little the country will have to enter the so-called new normality.

The coming period must be assumed with absolute responsibility, without optimism squandering so much effort, translated not only in the most important efforts of our courageous doctors - heroes deployed throughout the national geography and on many fronts of the world -, but also in great sacrifices of the families who, sheltered in love and the necessary recollection, remain far from their natural activities, transforming the daily scene into dissimilar initiatives.

Let discipline and common sense, therefore, be targeted towards the actions of each one of us, exceptional witnesses of what a small and blocked island, but immense in its humanism, can do when saving the lives of its children is all about. There will be those who, blind with hatred, do not notice the truth that Cuba is facing in the face of the pandemic's darts; but we, who know well, collaborate together for the definitive triumph, and without truce to overconfidence, we complete these victories won in full conscience.
