While Cuban doctors return from Italy and Andorra, after having provided services evaluated in both countries, as "typical of highly qualified personnel," officials from the US Department of State. they do not stop in their campaign to discredit the collaboration.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla affirmed on Twitter that the United States should deal with the impact of COVID-19 on its citizens, instead of attacking the island's medical cooperation.
He pointed out that several experts from that country assure that, with adequate and opportune measures, a third or half of the people who lost their lives due to the pandemic, would have been saved.
Months ago, while Donald Trump minimized the danger, Cuba was preparing its quarantine strategy, tests and follow-up of contacts, while alerting the biotechnology institutes of the scientific pole in western Havana, published in an article the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia: «the institutes work in collaboration and not in competition; it is faster, because the criterion is the national interest and not the private interest.
"Desperate doctors at hospitals in New York have called me asking how they can get Interferon Alpha 2b ..." Helen Yaffe, an economist at the University of Glasgow, told La Vanguardia. It will not be possible, the blockade against the Island also affects the American people.
